While working as an administrative
judge in Massachusetts, Carolynn Fischel met and began to study
painting with artist Ilona Royce-Smithkin.
Ilona is an Impressionist painter of national stature; portraitist
to America's celebrities and statesmen, and past host of three educational
television series on fine painting. "Ilona Upstairs" won
first prize as a documentary at the Povincetown International Film
Festival in June 2005. Under Ilona's masterful teaching, oil and
watercolor painting rapidly became Carolynn's passion.
Carolynn's extensive collection
features cottages, dunes and harbors of Cape Cod, where she summers.
At home, in Boston and Cambridge, she depicts antique bridges, buildings,
and people at play. Her work has become increasingly noticed and
shown in galleries, resturants, and major events, both locally in
Boston and on Cape Cod. Carolynn's work was featured in the Boston
Globe on May 25, 2000 and in the Boston Law Tribune in March 5,
2001.
